Design with your Food at Gravity Free Multidisciplinary Design Conference

Gravity Free

I can only say a huge 'Thank You' to Bestica for the chance to attend Gravity

Free - the world's only multidisciplinary design conference.

And what a conference it was! "Outlaws & Icons" were in abundance. Creative

geniuses in all forms from George Lois the 50 year - yes I said 50 YEAR -  front

line veteran in American Graphic Design to Martin Kastner designing

excruciatingly specific Service Ware for avant-garde chef Grant Achatz.

Design from every perspective was on hand to learn from - including lunch that

involved designing with your food!

And only surpassing the elements of design was PASSION for design. Passion that

will drive one to create interactive experiences with light(Vincent Leclerc);

another to dig in the dirt to produce living, growing environments (Margie

Ruddick); one to repeatedly push the boundaries of the accepted norm and so

change the way people think (George Lois) ; and another to seek out the problem

of bringing natural light underground in Lower Manhattan - and solve it (James

Ramsey).

Many of the Designers at Gravity Free emphasized human experience(UX):

"What we do is a Gift" (James Victore)that we give to others  - bringing greater

understanding, creating  memorable experiences, immersing people in an

unexpected environments, solving problems beautifully, teaching

something....providing a great 'user experience'.

So,the question arises: Are you a PASSIONATE Designer; would others consider

your Design a Gift?

Once answered, there are more questions and challenges to come from the 2012

Gravity Free Conference.
